Personal Brand Celebrity Countdown Vol. 3

One of the hardest things I did today was picking which Mark Twain quote to use in the above graphic!  (It was a pretty tough day as you could imagine.)

His “Travel is fatal to prejudice” is another favorite of mine being a travel junkie and procrastinators around the world sing his praises every time they see his quote “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.”

Mark Twain and pen writers from his era and before are the true starters of personal brands.  Samuel Clemens was his real name but he will always be revered and remembered as the writer of classics like Huck Finn, Tom Sawyer, and so many more as Mark Twain.

Now let’s get back to Mark Twain aka Samuel Clemens.
I had the opportunity to visit his former house in Hartford CT on a tour this spring and Twain certainly lived a life worth learning about.

From going on the journey of a lifetime that he accounts in his first book “The Innocents Abroad” to traveling the Oregon Trail via wagon to writing some of the greatest novels in history to a dark and brooding later life that brought a bitterness that was not seen in his early years.

The man chose his personal brand from his life on the river prior to writing. "Mark Twain" is a riverboat term measuring two fathoms (12 feet) in depth: mark (measure) twain (two).
Samuel Clemens created and lived a riveting personal brand from start to finish.  If you are ever in Hartford CT go visit his house, pick up one his books from the library, or even just google image “Mark Twain Quotes” and you’ll have yourself a gas!
If Clemens could do it in the 1800’s you can do it today!
Head HERE to get started on building your personal brand.
