Prep Leads to Awesome

The above quote is said over and over to me it seems.

I try to instill it in everything I do and encourage others to do the same.

If you prepare you still might not “win” depending on what your definition of “win” is.

But you will put yourself in more opportunities that give you the chance to have awesome things happen.

The basketball team that I coach won 54 52 last night in OT (keep in mind these are 7th and 8th graders with a score like that.)

We had two starters foul out mid way through the 4th quarter and I told them all we would still win.  But I didn’t have to tell them.  They already knew.  One of the kids in the huddle before overtime said “We have prepared all year long for this type of opportunity and we are ready for this.  Let’s go take care of business.”

And they did.

We play that game over today it might not go our way.  The other team deserved it just as much as we did and they prepared I guarantee just as much as us.

Why prepare then?

It gives you more opportunities for awesome things to happen in your life.  Whatever your goals are, whatever it is you want to do, and whatever it is you want to experience.

More prep, more hustle, more kindness, all of that leads to more opportunities of “awesome.”

Which is the only word I could describe to the kids about how they played after the game.

Get more awesome in your life by prepping all of the time because you never know when an opportunity might present itself.

Go have fun today!
