Publishing a Book THINKTANK: Phase Three

If you missed out on phase two of this THINKTANK series you can check out the post HERE.

For those of you reading this blog for the first time or if you need a reminder the THINKTANK blogs are self starter projects that I am working on and building from the ground up.

I show you in phases the processes of my creations and activities and what is working and not working.

The goal is for you to be able to get better grasp on how to create things for this world, focus on people and purpose in your digital marketing, understand what can be turned into passion projects/side hustles/full on businesses, and ultimately you getting to create a lifestyle around fulfilling work that impacts the world in a positive way!

In my last post I spoke about a few of the things I’d be working on over the next 30 days in preparation to finish my book.

I actually had coffee yesterday with my editor Hapy and the illustrator genius Don the Idea Guy!

In a quick update for both of these parts of the project I have the following:

  1. We are about 1/3 of the way through the final edit round and Hapy said she would have another round of edits to my this week.
  2. Don the Idea Guy and I settled on a total of 7 illustrations he’ll be doing for the book!  The book will have 7 sections in it and the grand finale of each section will be an illustration from Don with the most powerful takeaway of that section.  It’s my goal this week to hand over to him the most important takeaway from each section and he’ll be getting to work on the illustrations!

FEEDBACK TIME from you!  This is an important part of this THINKTANK process.  I want to involve you and get your feedback.

So without further ado…

Instead of opting to have a friend write a foreword to the book I have chosen the route to ask one question to each of my six professional mentors that have been my “boss” since I was 18.  These are the individuals who hired me to work for their business or company in one shape or another over the past 16 years.  They are also now all mentors to me in my life and have played a large role in this back, both directly and indirectly.

The feedback I am asking you is what question would you enjoy hearing be answered by this group of people?

I am currently leaning towards asking one of the two following questions:

  1. How have you made marketing more fun in your career since Mike worked for you?
  2. What role have you seen passionate marketing play in your life since you and Mike worked together?

Keep in mind this is a business/marketing book titled “The Passionate Marketing Revolution: Whose side are you on?” so asking them what they like on their hot dog doesn’t make sense!

It also gets to be valuable for the reader and get them pumped to read the book.

Let me know your thoughts or feedback!

Now that I have given you the title of the book again I’d also like to ask you what type of cover would you imagine going with a book like this?

I have a few ideas floating around but the THINKTANK is about involving the whole MFWM community in my projects and processes.  When you hear Passionate Marketing Revolution what do you envision to get you to grab off the shelf and turn to the first page?

Phase Four will be more of this process leading up to the ultimate launch!
