A Little Dose of 2016

2016: It’s just about here!

First off…I hope you and your family and friends have had a special holiday season and will continue to get to do so.
Secondly…I know it’s been a few weeks.  If you have truly been missing the blogs, my apologies!

I have been working on a true vision and plan for Marketing Fun With Mike for next year and we are about ready to go.  I promise it will be a brave new world, and a consistent one at that!
But first I wanted to share a little dose of my 2016 and encourage you to do the same.

There are tons of great themes and ways to line up goals for next year without feeling burdened by the act of changing your whole life.
Chris Brogan does a “3 Word” post that is great and Chris Guillibeau conducts an “Annual Review.”
Mine is a little blend of theirs, a few others, and doses of my own ideas for how to do it.
So without further ado…a little dose of 2016!

My theme for 2016 is “Humility and 110%.”

The word that kept coming up at my Uncle’s funeral was humility and how humble he was.  Since then I’ve been noticing that word a lot more and it’s something I want to incorporate into my life and live and be.  HUMBLE.

As for the 110% portion I attended a leadership and emotional intelligence training in December and I realized I have been spread too thin and doing a lot of work at 80%.  My goal is to apply myself to a few core projects both personally and professionally and do everything at 110%!  (While of course being humble.)

Sub themes for 2016 are to Stop Being So Busy!  Why are we always so “busy?”  I want to slow down and commit to what I am currently doing in the moment.

And the final sub theme is to stop focusing so long term and just focus in on making 2016 the best year ever!  When that year is done and I have the opportunity to do it again in 2017 I’ll shift to that year.  But not yet.

Additionally the past few years I feel that I have stretched myself too thin with too many goals.  (Hence the 110% theme.) This year I kept my goals to 30 and each one has a distinct path to reaching it.

That’s my little dose of 2016.

I hope it gives you some ideas for what kind of themes, goals, and outlines you want to lay out for yourself.  (Notice I did not use the word resolution!)

You are capable of more than you realize and I’m excited to see it shine through next year and that you have the best year yet of your incredible life!

If any of your goals involve freeing up more time and building an incredible personal brand then check out my Recipes Page HERE to help you on your way.

I’m glad you are here and I’m excited to be back.  More to come soon.  Shares and comments are encouraged and appreciated!
