The Decisions We Make

I’d like to officially welcome myself back to the blogosphere.

Lots of work has been done on the backend that you will be seeing soon enough that I am excited to share with you!  I missed writing these though and I do hope you missed reading them.

Today I was thinking about the paramount impact that the decisions we make can have on both our lives and the lives of so many others for extended periods of time.
With it being Martin Luther King Jr Day (may he rest in peace) I was thinking about the incredible impacts he has had on this country and the world since his life tragically ended.
I consider him to be one of the most important people in my life that I never met (nor was even close to meeting since he was assassinated twenty years prior to my birth.)
But he’s had a huge impact on my life in how to live, how to treat other people, and overall how to respond to the challenges of each day.

Dr King made a decision to stand for change and the decisions he made cost him his life, saved thousands of others lives, and overall shook up the orbit of the Earth.  All from a few decisions he made.

How we treat each other every single day, how we motivate ourselves, and how we act and react can cause big changes just in what we feel are small decisions.

I made the decision to rise at 6am and head to hot yoga this morning. Everything told me NO until I got to the studio, then I realized it was the 100% RIGHT decision.  That small decision changed the entire plan and outlook for my entire day.  One small and seemingly minute decision, we make dozens of those every day.
What’s the answer to determine how to understand the impact of our decisions?  There isn’t one.  Just to be mindful of the impact that the decisions we make can have.  Both for better and for worse.

And I’m pretty confident that if we make more decisions like Dr King did towards pushing for kindness, love, and equality then we’ll all be in a better place and live in a better world very very soon!
